Xavier claur
Xavier Claur, Master Ceramicist, has over 20 years' experience researching and developing his work on the origins of hand crafted ceramics. In 1985 he founded his first company, XAVIER CLAUR 'LA CERAMICA D'ALZIRA', where he continues to develop the art of pottery and painting in the Baroque Valencian style of The XVIII Century. His creations range from the most traditional pots to the most up to date designs – all pieces being produced in the hand crafted style of the era.
Since the beginning, Xavier Claur has designed spaces and ambiences for clients from all over the world: these include The President's Box at Valencia Football Club (El Casalet del Mestalla), The Hotel Valencia in Havana, Cuba, The Hotel Nobles de Navarra in Aibar and The Restaurant Valencia in Warsaw, Poland. His designs cover Villas, Paelleros (barbacues for paella), fountains, kitchens and bathrooms. He has also been engaged in the restauration of, amongst others, such monuments as the dome of the Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de la Valldigna and the Casilicio of the avenida de los Santos Patronos de Alzira.
In the year 2000 he was awarded the title of The Finest Craftsman in The Communidad Valencia (comprising the provinces of Valencia, Castellon and Alicante) by The Communidad's Chamber of Commerce.
He is now looking to fulfil one of his professional ambitions; the creation of unique spaces, with their own identity. Exquisite spaces, carefully planned to the smallest detail, in the integrated decoration of the home.

The art of ceramics, despite the centuries that have passed since its discovery, demands ever stricter observance of the process and proportions in making the mixture and the combinations of the products that make this mixture.
In securing the quality of the finished pieces, the clay in the hands of Xavier Claur has a fundamental complicity. These pieces are later decorated with pure minerals. After this the firing of the pieces constitutes the most important operacion of the whole fabrication process. For this the pieces are arranged in the kiln so the pieces do not touch; the flames cause the minerals to react to the heat, producing vivid, brilliant colours in a material that will now never return to its original state and nor will it deteriorate. Ceramics.
A full range of designs for kitchens and bathrooms, as well as all the necessary accessories, from floor tiles to lamps, kitchen containers, sugar bowls and other kitchenware can be found both in his shop Xavier Claur de Alzira (Valencia), and online.
In his bathrooms every detail is taken care of; washbasins, soapdishes, bath salt containers and whatever the client may desire, are decorated by hand and designed to compliment the wall tiling. All this creates a warm, personal atmosphere to make your home an exclusive space. His products are available in all high quality shops specializing in ceramics and pottery, where professional assistance is at hand to advise you on the best choice for your home.
